Magnify the Lord

Last night, I heard someone wiser than me talk about what it means to 'magnify.' If you have ever looked through a magnifying glass, you discover that whatever it is you set your eyes on becomes bigger; and everything else is blurred, less visible. When we magnify the Lord, He becomes bigger...the attributes of His nature, the truths of His character, the reality of the inevitable fulfillment of His promises...growing in our field of vision until we realize that He is ALL we can see. And as we continue to magnify Him in His greatness, He becomes even greater still...leading us into deeper discoveries, richer revelations of His glory, His power, His strength, His majesty, His beauty, full of grace and mercy, His wisdom, patience, kindness.

I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My life makes its boast in the Lord. Let the humble and afflicted hear and be glad. O, magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His name together. Psalm 34: 1-3 (Amplified)

Who do You Say I Am?

I Samuel 16:7 (ESV) The Lord sees not as man sees; man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.

Last night the Lord encouraged me to ask Him this question, "Who do You say I am?" Who does the Lord say Lori is? Huh...I know who I have said the Lord is for me, who He has been for me in my life during times of trial or struggle and in times of blessing and abundant provision. While I was singing to Him last night, I was surprised to hear Him tell me to ask Him who He says I am.  At first I thought, "Why? I already know...I am the righteousness of God in Christ; I am His masterpiece created for good works..." But as I recited those familiar words, He said, "That's true, but listen to My heartbeat for you, tell Me what you hear."

So as I listened, I heard Him say "You are my prize; my most cherished one. You are My gifted one; My anointing rests on you; you bring Me with you into every circumstance and conversation; you are My reflection and representation. You are my beloved and one I trust with secrets and revelations." Needless to say, I wept under His loving affirmations of who I am to Him. I'm so thankful He loves me. I'm so thankful He reminded me last night.

Listen, do you hear Him encouraging you to ask Him who He says you are?
